Seems that wherever you go on this island, you see
homes, condos and building lots being developed. According to the Roatan Municipality, building permits are way up over this period last
year and they predict no slow down in the near future.
New developments offering stable and secure investment
possibilities are popping up everywhere on Roatan….not just in the popular
tourist areas anymore.
One such project, located in the heart of West End,
is changing the face of that sleepy little village. “The Palms at West End” promises to set the mark for future development and in fact raises
the bar with upscale construction and design.
Influenced by a Bali-style architecture, The Palms at West End promises to offer only the finest imported construction materials to
reflect an atmosphere of quality and value. Both the commercial Plaza off the beach and the residential Spa Villas
in the back are taking advantage of the natural beauty of Roatan, while
incorporating modern technology and construction advances.
Designed to be the epicenter of Roatan’s social life.
‘The hub’ or heart of West End will house both fine dining establishments and
numerous retail outlets—including a soundstage for daily presentations of
ethnic musical shows featuring the people of the Garifuna tribes,
Internationally famed for their unique ‘punta’ dance and folkloric
Honduran meringue and salsa music.
Dine on some of the finest culinary delights the Island has to offer. Enjoy shopping for fine Art and Island collectables—gifts that release the exotic rhythms of the
Caribbean.
"And we haven’t forgotten our precious
families", says developer Delmer Urbizo Meza. "The Village
Shops at the Palms will include a children’s playground along with many other
attractions ,including Caricature Artists drawing portraits and tattoos, Buskers
and even clowns …truly a place for the whole family."
The Village Shops at The Palms, will include three
fine Restaurants, the central Village Water Bar, six Stores and four
Kiosks. A place that will make you feel
alive and bring out the beauty within.
In other aspects of our local Real Estate market, the
Roatan Realtor’s Association is growing with now more than 12 Agencies
cooperating in a Multiple Listing Service in addition to publishing Roatan’s third
edition of the MLS Real Estate Guide this past month. This free publication showcases all
properties for sale on Roatan, from all the agencies in the Association, in
one, easy to read booklet. Copies of the Bay Islands Real Estate Guide are
available at most hotels, gas stations, restaurants and Real Estate offices.
Visitors to the island may notice the road striping
down the middle of the Highway, courtesy in part, of the Roatan Realtors
Association who have graciously donated funds to this great cause. Already, accidents are fewer and driving at
night is a much more safe endeavor.
Hurricane season is now over, thank
God. While we avoided any storms this
season (at the time of this writing) we sympathize with our friends and clients
in the US that have been devastated this year. Our prayers and financial support goes out to
them.
The good news is that Investors are looking harder
than ever at our paradise here, unaffected by Mother Nature’s wrath this year,
as a safe place to put there money, and an even better place to retire. Our inquires from the USA alone are up 300% over this same period last year.
