The biggest little holiday in Latin America, Easter Week brings more tourists to the white sandy beaches of Roatan than any other time of the year. This year was no exception either. A little tougher to finder a parking spot than last year (thanks to the many new developments springing up), and even tougher to find a patch of sand to spread out your towel...Semana Sante (as it's called here) proved to be a heck of a party again this year!
More than 3,000 beach-goers graced the shores of West Bay this past week with a variety of dance music, reggae, latin rock, and even a little karoke to keep your feet a movin! Boats, bikinis and bronzed bodies lined the seafront while BBQs, street vendors, sunglass salesmen, and the odd REALTOR weaved through the crowds like a symphony of culture..... one that is rich this time of year. No serious injuries were reported, except a few hang overs...and everyone I saw had a great time....
