July 3rd marked a monumental occasion for Roatan! Probably single-handedly, the most importatnt "turning point" that Roatan will ever see. Developers of the Mystic Harbour Golf Resort signed the loan documents for the construction of their first phase of development here on their 278 acre Neverstain Bight property.
In a joint agreement with Starwood Resorts, Azure Enterprises, S.A., local businessmen/developers, Lafisse Bank, Banco Groupo Ahorra (BGA) and others, more than $36M has been earmarked for the development of a 162 room Westin Hotel at Mystic Harbour. 2nd phase plans boast a marina facility, 9 hole golf course, luxury villas, and residences. Along with my colleages, Montreal Bob and Edward DuMonceaux, we were able to bring the parties to the table, assist in the financing, liason the attorneys and proceed to closing on this magical property!!
Actually, this is the 3rd offer I've brought partners Eric Anderson and Bill Caille on the property at Neverstain Bight over the past 5 years. I guess 3rd time is a charm, as they say.
