March 4th to 8th marked the 34th annual RE/MAX International convention....this year in beautiful Atlanta, Georgia. More than 5,000 out of 120,000 agents around the world attended this year's festivities which included educational classes, awards presentations, fun nights, and of course....N-E-T-W-O-R-K-I-N-G.
This year, as in past years, we were privileged to be recipients of multilple awards including TOP 100 Individuals worldwide (out of 120,000 associates), #4 Top Producer Caribbean/Central America region, and #6 Top Producer Internationally! Our Buyer's Agent, Montreal Bob Sirois also took home the 100% Club award for his fine achievments in 2006! Way to go Bob!!
Roatan, the Bay Islands, and Honduras as a whole continue to recieve international attention from people looking for a great retirement spot, 2nd income-producing home, warm climate, clean white sandy beaches, and rapid appreciation. Beach lots, Island style homes, Caribbean view condominiums, and modern villas are the main attraction. Combine that with the lowest prices in the entire Caribbean basin.... and you've got a winner! Drop us a line and we'd love to share our property listings with you so that you too can realize your paradise dream...
The convention is a must for Shelley and I each and every year. We had a total of 8 people from our office go up this year and fun was had by all. One of the best events for us was the "International referral forum" where each country had a chance to show their stuff.
We brought up, displayed and handed out all kinds of things native to Honduras and the Bay Islands..... hand crafted key chains and jewellery, coffee, cigars, brochures, maps and even our Flor de Cana rum was given away to more than 2,000 individuals who attended this part of the Convention. Can you say networking to the max???? As the liveliest (must have been the rum) and busiet table at the forum....RE/MAX Bay Islands made sure that EVERYONE knew where Roatan was!! What a great way to show off our listings, news and this year's events to the rest of the world!!
This year's entertainment included country star Tracy Byrd, who performed an hour long accoustical set for a select few. The super energetic and still going strong 80's all girl band, The Go-Gos. And rounding off Fun Night was the original (minus Michael MacDonald) laid back, southern rock band....The Doobie Brothers....and WOW can they stll rock!!
