When there are no rules, rulers rule

    An interesting point to consider when you're buying property in any 3rd world country, even Honduras is this--what exactly am I buying?  How is the construction compared to back home?  Since there are no building codes in Honduras as yet, people can build whatever they want, wherever they want to and pretty much however they want to.  The ONLY inspection that is done in this country is BEFORE construction begins....basically, the powers that be come out to inspect the property/building site once a building permit is applied for.  They want to see where you're going to build using the plans submitted, and where/how the septic will be located. (waste water). 

That's it.

Once again Easter is celebrated in Honduras, and according to Latin culture, it's more of a beach party than the remembrance of Jesus death and resurrection to life again....  More than 3,000 locals, tourists and mainlanders alike descended on Roatan's TOP beach, West Bay this week and this day, Good Friday, represents the climax of the festivities....

    Live music, plenty of cervesas, sunglasses and the latest in beach fashions can be seen, heard and danced to, as one walks through the whites sands along the shores of the Caribbean.  This shot was taken from Costa Tesoso, our home in West Bay around noon on Friday....and it's going to get even busier in a few hours.  From the beach, the crowd moves in on West End after dark to continue the party into the wee hours of the morning...

    While Shelley, the boys and I, and our dearest friends take advantage of the holiday week to visit and relax a bit...we remember what Jesus did for us on the cross, what his dieing and being raised to life again meant for us as Christians...and what it means to all mankind, Christians, Jews, Muslims and Buddhists alike... our sins are forgiven, and He alone is King of Kings and Lord of Lords... and as our Lord and Savior, Jesus loves us, as does his Father, who sent him to us, and allowed him to be die...so that we could live.

HGTV back for more of roatan!

   

  Much to the surprise of many a tourist, West Bay Beach turned once again into a Hollywood production set....  Pie Town Productions, whose company shoots more than 14 television shows for Home & Garden Television, was in town last week shooting yet another (this is #3) entertaining episode of HGTV's flagship series...House Hunters.

    This episode stars yours truly and is based upon a wonderful couple (long time clients of mine) whose dream it is to pack up Dodge and move to paradise!!  But this time, with a twist.  This ground breaking storyline involves more than just a home purchase---this young couple in their 20's actually bought a dive resort/hotel through me on West Bay Beach on the show.  The residence was just a part of it.  "This is the first time we've shot a couple seeking a home AND a business together, and we're really excited", said Amy McCarty, Segment Producer for House Hunters.

   

Set to air next month, this truer than life reality show boasts more than 82 million viewers and currently is the hottest show on the HGTV network.  It was a great week, I learned alot about television production and made some great friends with the crew.  Move over Mr. Gibson...there's a brand new Sheriff in town... and he's wearing flippas!
