So we're now in our winter season and as usual this time of year, it's raining off and on, but absolutely welcomed by those of us who have been here long enough to appreciate the climate change and filling of our water cisterns. The eastern Caribbean is being beaten by severe rains and flooding (TS Noel) while we are enjoying cool temperatures and sunshine peaking through the clouds now and then.
The two sets of clients I have on the Island right now are both considering locations to invest. One likes the pristine waters of West Bay, while the other seeks solitude up on the hills of Sandy Bay. Both areas are unique and offer different lifestyles. Transportation, roads, services and amenities, amount of use, rental income, future appreciation, schools... are some of the topics that have come up while we've been touring around in my 4 x 4.... but both agree on ONE THING.... it's time to buy!
The pending FREEPORT status for Roatan, the increased Cruise Ship activity, the retiring "baby boomers", the new flights being added, the great economy here, the wonderful people...(shall I go on) are all reasons why buying sooner than later is the plan of the day! Roatan is booming! And I for one believe will continue at least for the next couple of years in the same path. We are far below the Caribbean pricing of other Islands. We are fast becoming a major tourist destination. We are just 2 hours from major US cities.... and we are the #1 pick for CNN.Money for 2nd home buyers!! Prices will NEVER be as low as they are now. The time to invest in Roatan and the Bay Islands is now. That, you can take to the bank.
