For the first time in the 10 years Shelley and I have been here, Semana Sante (Holy Week/Easter) was a bust at the beach! Each year more than 3,000 people have lined the white sands of West Bay on Good Friday and music, dancing, suntan lotion and cold drinks are the only thing on the minds of the beachgoers.... This year is different..... a "northern" swept in on Wednesday taking us all by surprise! This time of year storms are unheard of. We even had to cancel our fishing trip this week!!
We did however, have a great time yesterday on a nearly deserted beach. Warm 4 foot waves made body surfing for the kids and I a treat! Today the winds and rain subsided somewhat and the partyers returned to West Bay... still not like other years... but fun nonetheless was had by all. Happy Easter!!! And please remember what Jesus did for us on this day.....
