Megaplaza, as it will be called, is nearing the final stages of completion and is set to open it's doors to the public September 1st, this year. The shopping center, owned and built by the same Hondurans that operate numerous other large shopping malls in Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and La Ceiba, on the mainland, has been under construction for almost 2 years and is a welcome addition for those wanting some of the finer things in life.
In addition to the "junk" food stores like Wendys and Popeye's Chicken going in, they'll be an assortment of other chain stores like Baskin Robbins, Appleby's, gourmet Coffee shops, hardware stores, furniture factory outlets, and a HUGE Supermercado (Super Market) bringing all the freshest vegetables and fruits Honduras has to offer.
So now, Roatan has world class shopping..... an 18-hole Professional Golf Course.... 2 Cruise ship terminals and an International Airport....what's missing? The first thing that comes to mind is.... Driver's exams!
