After moving to Honduras and in particular, Roatan.... sooner or later you'll want to open a bank account. You have two options here.. a US dollar account for Savings.... or a Honduran Lempira (local currency) account for Checking. If you plan on wiring money from back home here, either account will suffice. Online banking is also available at most of the banks here now as well.. but they DO STILL use the old passbooks and you NEED to present it to withdraw funds. Today, I chose to open an account at Lafise Bank...located in Roatan's West End. Come along with me and judge for yourself....
